Research Tasks In Pokemon Go Online

Research Tasks In Pokemon Go Online

Research assignments are a game online Pokemon Go mechanism that offers rewards to trainers who complete the assigned tasks. Research assignments focus on skill and execution rather than relying on random chance. By participating in each research task, trainers will find it easier to increase their level which can result in more attractive prizes. The stardust obtained from winning research tasks is quite high compared to the amount obtained from playing photo discs at Pokestops.

Research tasks Pokemon Go can be accessed on the right screen below with the binoculars icon. The research page is divided into 3 tabs, namely:

  • Field that includes field research assignments and Research Breakthrough stamp progress.
  • Special Tab ongoing and completed campaigns list.
  • Today View includes timed research campaigns, bonuses for current events, daily PokeCoins and daily bonus progress.

Research Tasks and Rewards

There are many types of research tasks that have different ways of working for trainers to know so they can get rewards quickly. The following is the explanation

Field Research
Research tasks are tasks that can be collected by playing PokeStops disc photos. Each PokeStop only gives 1 task per day and changes its tasks at 00:00 local time per day. After completing the task, a small fish is displayed in the upper right corner on the PokeStop photo disk.

Field Research Tasks have objectives that include catching specific Pokémon, performing basic in-game actions, or battling in a Gym or Raid Battle. These tasks are geared more casually so players can complete them within 15 to 30 minutes.

Research Bonuses
Every day, Trainers receive bonus Field Research assignments automatically. The tab is made light green so it can be recognized. The fourth slot will open for a bonus assignment if all three Field Research tabs are filled. However, if all four Field Research slots are filled, Trainers will not receive bonus assignments.

Special Research
Special research is a campaign divided into several parts with a unique set of tasks requested by Professor Willow herself. Special research tasks can only be completed once per player and each series of tasks has attractive and unique prizes to obtain to add to your Pokemon collection.

Timed Research
Since May 2020, there is an additional Research campaign type called Futures Research which works very similarly to a Special Research campaign, however its accessibility is restricted for a certain period of time after which time Research Futures will disappear and will no longer be accessible regardless of the Trainer’s progress in this regard.

DailyResearch
Daily Research has been applied to several countries including Australia, Germany, New Zealand, and Taiwan. Daily Research is a feature that allows trainers to earn some PokeCoins for completing a whole series of tasks. The Daily Research Set consists of 5 tasks with a low level of difficulty and 20 PokeCoins will be awarded for completing the tasks.

Following tasks were reported to appear in Daily Research:

  • Catch a Pokémon.
  • Transfer a Pokémon.
  • Evolve a Pokémon.
  • Power up a Pokémon.
  • Use a Berry to help catch a Pokémon.
  • Make a Nice Throw.
  • Make a Great Throw.
  • Make an Excellent Throw.
  • Win a Raid.
  • Defeat Team GO Rocket grunt.

Trainers can earn one Stamp per-day by claiming the reward from a Field Research task. Once seven stamps have been obtained, a Research Breakthrough can be achieved.

The stamp is earned upon claiming the task’s reward, not when the task is completed, so if you complete two tasks in a day, you can opt to save one to get another stamp for tomorrow by not claiming one of them. For Pokémon appearance rewards, tapping claim reward will give you the stamp, not when you actually catch them.

These breakthroughs offer rewards such as randomly given items and a chance to encounter a Pokémon.

It is currently unknown what is the purpose of Special Research stamps that are present in the game files, as only Field Research stamps can be currently obtained by players.
